Our sports editor, John Bagley, choose 10 stories to focus on as the biggest local sports moments of the year. With the events prechosen for me, I chose the actual photos (though the water polo was my second choice, as my favorite, the one of the kids throwing the coach into the pool had been run last week). As with the photos of the year from the week previous, two of my photos were included in this.

In addition to being a great source of fun photos, the timing skills I've built from anticipating and shooting at just the right moment also come into play during fast moving nonsports events like wedding receptions.
